In 1967 when we first moved to Moab, there were peach trees and orchards all over. When we left in 2007, the large church orchard there was waiting to be the site for the new hospital. The trees long dead, left only ghost memories of many activities and hours spent by many of the members of that church. There were also private orchards, dotting the landscape and now only occasional peach trees on private properties.
Moab, quilter, Marian Eason paid tribute to these old orchards, in her quilt, "Summer Nectar." Brings back many memories of bottling the sweet fruit and then enjoying it all winter!
