What Being a Quilter can Be!

This morning, while reading in my Sunshine Yahoo Group, I was directed to the following link at Quilts Beyond Borders.
Bennett AZ

As I zoomed in on each picture of quilts and looked at the vast array of color and design blowing in the wind, tears came to my eyes.  I thought of countless quilters at their individual sewing machines sewing away in order to complete quilts by the December 15 deadline.

Here are a couple of pictures from that site.

These are just a few of the many!

Yesterday I hosted two of our Grands for a Craft Day.
We painted:

Drank green smoothies:
Enjoyed the finished projects:

C was trying to not express "Joy" and he can really pull faces for the camera.

This is a picture of C with Nana before her passing:
This one tugs at my heart each time I see it.  He told me yesterday that she's an angel now.  (Sob)

Life goes on and kids somehow show us the way.

Love to all!

I Think I'm out of the Woods!

It's been two long weeks of feeling totally yucky!  But, today I feel like I might make it.

I finished the quilting on this quilt and just need the binding.  Yay!  I'm going to get it done by Christmas!

This completes my journey on the Drunkard's Path Here

There are so many ways to make Drunkard's Path quilts.  I'm sure that this is just really the beginning, but I've got to move on.

My daughter-in-law's mother passed this week and she would like to have comfort bears for her siblings and for the two grands.  So that is my next project and I hope I can get them done quickly.  I need to cut the clothes and make patchwork out of them and then sew them into bears.

I feel like a million with my new haircolor and do today!  Love the blonde in me!
I've been pretty sporadic with my blog.  I have a lot of catching up to do on other's blogs.  I'm not promising that I'll get to much before next week.

Now to get the binding on that quilt!

I'm so happy it is done, I just didn't think I would make it.

Yippee! I Got to order the Backing on Cyber Monday

I've been waiting to make an order for the backing for my queen sized quilt and today I finished the top on this number to bring it to 60" square.  I found a flannel that I think will work as I don't want to put a plush on the other side of this as I don't think I could quilt it on my machine and I'm not going to pay someone to quilt this when I need the practice on my machine.  She really loves plush fabrics, but I'm just not sure, so I'll stick to what I know for this one.

It's a bit hard to photograph as it isn't quilted yet, but here is the peek.

It's part of my choosing to participate in the Cross the Drunkard's Path Quilt Along found Here

I got the fabrics from Color Wheel Palette found Here

I just love Vicki's color palette fabrics.  This will be just so much fun to quilt for my 12 year old granddaughter.  It's very much a teen age friendly quilt top and will take her through to college I think...

Time Changes One's Perspective

A quilt I quilted last summer was one I thought I'd keep.  I spent hours on the quilting.  I was practicing feathers and another technique and I didn't want to give that away.

Since I'm not in the process of doing any kind of a trunk show, I've decided to throw this in with some other quilts to give to Quilts Beyond Borders Here

Deep inside me I realize that what these people need is more equality so that they can get their food, their lodging and the basic needs met, but until that happens, I can give my quilts as meager as that may seem.

Here is the quilt and you'll recognize the fabric as that I am using for charming stars also.

I also finished these this week.  I tried some more of the McTavish design I've watched on You Tube channels.  It's my own version.

And this one that was in the basket awaiting gifting

And then this one was made from some HST's I had and didn't want to use in more Jacob's Ladder blocks.  (After a queen size quilt that is awaiting quilting)

And then this was quilted, but will probably go to Project Linus because of the amount of white in it.

And this will go to Project Linus too.
